Old Norse Runes by Fagertveit Old Norse Runes by Fagertveit
Well, there were quite some time since I sat down and made me a font from the scratch, has only happened once before, but now I'm on the move again! :D
After having made a set of cards with the Old Norse runes for personal use i scanned them and wondered what to make out of it.
This is what I went for hehe, after seeing how the Terror font is quite a popular item of my gallery (tickin' on 1600+ downloads) I thought that another font wont hurt them pageviews.

I have taken time to write a nice little Read Me that is in the zip with the font, this is giftware so read the little bastard before printin' magz and such ;)

Anyway, hope you like it, and don't be afraid to say if it need some updates or if theres something wrong with it. Should work equally good on win as on mac machines.

These are not Old Norse runes, though. These are Proto-Norse runes. The Old Norse (AKA the Viking age language) used the Younger Futhark. This is the Elder Futhark.

Thanx, the main purpose of them was for a set of cards, but I thought "whata hell, let's make a fonty of the shit as well" hehe. Glad you likes them!

The translation of these runes are wrong. 'þ' is equilant to 'th', the "Y" is equilant to 'y' except when it's the last rune in a word, then it's 'R'. And I've never seen Ingwaz being used as a comma before. The usual equilant is 'ng'.

Other than that, good work.

hehe I know that it's not exacly right, but that chart is just to show how to type the characters on a keyboard (it's a computer font if you haven't noticed yet?) and there ain't no keys on the keyboard for th n' ng and such, just trying to fit em as good as possible :)
